City Installs Upgrade to Water Meters

Crews are working hard to replace and upgrade every meter in the city. This upgrade in not only a new water meter, but the way every meter gets read. Attached to every new meter is a wireless device called a FIREFLY. This FIREFLY is capable of reporting daily reads through a mesh network within the city. The Automatic Meter Reading system eliminates the need for the city crew to walk to every meter in the city to read it. With nearly 1,100 meters in the city this process should take a few months.
